KarYeah is a Chandigarh company building the first-person data layer for embodied AI. We are a venture of 172 Tech.
Why Chandigarh.
A city laid out on a numbered grid, where a workshop sector sits a ten-minute drive from a market sector and a farm sits twenty minutes past that.
Density of different kinds of work, in a small radius, is the single most useful thing a data collection operation can have. A recorder in Sector 29 can film a service bay in the morning and a canteen line in the afternoon. That compression is why our variety per hour is high and our cost per hour is not.
It also means we hire locally. Our recorders are mechanics, cooks, shopkeepers and farmers being paid properly for expertise they already have.

Data charter
Five commitments we will not trade away.
- 01 — Consent is per session
- Not a blanket contract signed once. Every recording is separately agreed, in the recorder's own language, and separately withdrawable.
- 02 — Bystanders are not data
- People who did not agree to be recorded are blurred, and if a scene cannot be cleaned it is deleted rather than released.
- 03 — Recorders are paid, not farmed
- Per-hour rates above local hourly wage benchmarks for the same work, with training time paid and no equipment deposit.
- 04 — Provenance travels with the file
- Every episode carries its manifest. If a buyer cannot trace it, we have not done our job.
- 05 — No scraped footage, ever
- Nothing in a KarYeah collection came off a video platform. All of it was recorded for this purpose, by someone who knew.
